NORTH AUGUSTA FIRE STATION

Fire Station - North Augusta, SC

North Augusta Fire Station #1, located on Martintown Road in North Augusta, South Carolina was a hard-bid job that was awarded to Clifton Construction. Clifton was pleased to partner with the City of North Augusta and the architects at JLA to complete this project.

In addition to the standing seam metal roof, the exterior of the fire station includes a combination of cast stone, manufactured stone, and brick veneer. The 10,000 SF facility consists of offices, a day room, a kitchen, bunk rooms, a tool room, a decontamination room, and a decontamination laundry room to safely tend to the fire gear after fighting fires.

The three apparatus bays feature 12 foot HVLS (high volume low speed) ceiling fans and an automated exhaust system designed to remove carbon monoxide. Each apparatus bay boasts a stunning arched glass door. The arch detailing continues throughout the design in both the main entrance and windows.

Landscaping includes a Bio-Retention Pond and air fracturing of the soil around a 100-year-old oak tree. The preservation of the oak tree was important to the city and Clifton ensured that it was properly protected throughout the construction process.
